Working principle of airflow dryer: Wet materials enter the drying tube from the spiral feeder, and air is blown in by the blower. After being heated by the heater, it merges with the materials and achieves the drying purpose in the drying tube. The dried material is recovered in the cyclone dust collector and bag filter, and the exhaust gas is discharged from the exhaust pipe through the exhaust fan.

Airflow drying is a type of convection drying, and the drying of wet materials consists of two processes: heat and mass transfer. When wet materials come into contact with hot air, the drying medium (hot air) transfers thermal energy to the surface of the wet material, which is then transferred to the interior of the material. This is a process of heat transfer. At the same time, the moisture in the wet material diffuses from the inside of the material in liquid or gaseous form to the surface of the material, and then diffuses from the surface of the material through a gas film into the hot air, which is a mass transfer process.

In airflow drying, besides using unsaturated hot air as the drying medium, flue gas can be used for high-temperature drying. To avoid contamination or oxidation of materials, superheated steam can be used. For drying materials containing organic solvents, nitrogen or superheated vapor of solvents can also be used as the drying medium.
